Classroom Support
The classroom support provided at St Michael’s School is about meeting student needs based on individual growth and learning. The key focus is to support all students to access the mainstream curriculum to the best of their ability providing necessary adjustments as required. In conjunction with the Classroom Support Teacher (CST) and parents, teachers may develop a Personalised Plan which will set goals and document supports in place for students. Classroom Support Assistants (CSAs) work with teachers to ensure that all students, including those with Personalised Plans, are safe, happy and able to access teaching and learning.
The Classroom Support Team works in an inclusive model within the classroom setting. CSAs also facilitate intervention programs such as MiniLit and MacqLit.
