We hope that everyone is getting through the week the best way they can. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
It was great to see so many of our families on Tuesday during the drive by our school. We are really missing our students. The staff are very much struggling with not having the regular contact with them everyday. That is why we got into this profession. A new normal that we will have to get use to. Thanks to those families who were able to drive by and give us a wave. I know it meant a lot to you and I can tell you it meant a lot to our staff. We will continue to explore these fun ways to connect should remote learning continue into Term 2, which at this stage, is looking very likely. I am hoping to have more information about what Term 2 will look like before the end of this week or at least by the end of the term. As soon as I have anything confirmed, I will be letting you all know straight away. Thanks for your patience.
It is a very strange way to finish the term!
Please continue to take care of yourselves and each other.
Kind regards,
Pat Ellis (Principal)

This week read about Tawonga. She is a 10-year-old girl, living with a disability. Tawonga lives in a village in northern Malawi in a region plagued by food insecurity and poverty. For most of her life, her parents have struggled to put meals on the table. Tawonga often had to miss school because she was too sick from hunger. The family also faced discrimination in their community due to her disability. Since participating in a Caritas Australia supported program, Tawonga’s life has transformed. Her family now grows enough food to provide three meals a day, ending the struggle of malnutrition, and helping her thrive at school.

Congratulations to Josh (5/6F) on his recent athletics achievements. As well as receiving a gold medal in the Quadrathlon events at the recent Little Athletics Multi Carnival, Josh was also awarded the The Kosta Kouparitsas Award as the Male Champion at the Coroboree Athletics Club. Josh broke 3 club records this season, one of which was the 1991 200m record held by one of the stars of the past, Neil Donlan. Josh also holds the clubs 100m record.
If you haven’t already downloaded the SORA App, we encourage you to do so. It allows students to borrow ebooks and audiobooks from the Catholic Education digital library collection. There is no cost associated with use of this resource.
As a school we are working to create our own online library specifically for our students. It will sit within the SORA app. We will let families know when it is available. In the meantime all students can still borrow ebooks and audio books from the app as usual.
When in the App, it will ask for the school name, please select 'ACEN Member Collection' (this is for various CE schools). If your child logs in from home, student login details are required. Your child's login details are as per the student login used at school. If your child has forgotten their login details please email their classroom teacher.
ACT Library Online Resources
The ACT Library website has a wide range of online resources to support students in
their remote learning. The resources available are suited to students of all year levels.
