Assistant Principal's Page - Bridgette McCann
Dear Parents and Carers,
This last week has been a frenzy of wonderful celebrations at St Michael’s. We came together for the Giving Mass, enjoyed a lovely Kinder Nativity, shared a fun presentation by our leaders at the Year 6 Assembly, held a beautiful Graduation Liturgy, dinner & awards and met new classes and teachers for 2024. I would like to thank our amazing staff, our parish members, our students and families for ensuring our St Michael’s community is vibrant and continues to promote kindness, compassion and forgiveness inspired by the teachings of Jesus.
We are very proud of our Year 6 cohort leaving St Michael’s in 2023 and wish them every future success. After a beautiful ceremony in the Church on Monday night, we gathered at the Ainslie Football Club to celebrate our Year 6 Graduation. Congratulations to all our graduates and to the following students who received school awards & community awards.

Kinder Nativity
This week our Kindergarten students shared the story of the Nativity. They retold the events, using story and songs, that led to the birth of Jesus. Kindergarten reminded us that Jesus is the best gift we could ever receive, and that Jesus is the real reason for the season. Thank you to all parents and friends who were able to join us, and Victoria De Mattia for all the work that went into organising and preparing the students. Congratulations Kindergarten students on a memorable performance.
Year 6 Graduation Liturgy
On Monday evening the Year 6 students gathered with their families to celebrate their Graduation Liturgy. It was a time to reflect on all the blessings of the past 7 years of primary school. We thanked God for the relationships that have been formed and the gifts that have been given to us, including the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the gift of friendship and learning. The teachers also blessed the students with the gifts that are represented with the colours of the St Michael’s rainbow; vitality, self-image, joy, tranquility, choice and judgement, acceptance and compassion. We congratulate our Year 6 cohort and wish them every future success in the next chapter of their learning journey. A big thank you to the Year 6 teachers; Danielle Madsen, Jess Hallahan, Shianne Sahariv and Erin Hardwicke, for preparing the students for high school and ensuring the students’ last days at St Michael’s are memorable.
Christmas
During Advent we have been preparing our hearts and waiting for the coming of Christmas, the memorial of Christ’s birth. Christmas is about the mystery of the divine found within the human, God entering our everyday life! Because Jesus Christ was born into our world in a normal human way, all our ordinary human activities are made holy. Jesus Christ has entered our lives and saved us from the darkness. He is our Saviour, truly God’s greatest gift. May the wonder of the first Christmas, the joy of God's abundant blessings, and the peace of Jesus's presence be with you all this Christmas season.
