It has been a great start to this term, and we are right back into organising important events and experiences for your children. Please keep an eye on compass for events such as the Swimming Carnival, Tuesday 21st February. Thank you to Erin Hardwicke for her planning and organisation. Please contact Erin if you can assist, even for part of the day, it will be greatly appreciated.
A huge welcome to Lisa Mammoliti who will be joining us this term as our Religious Education Coordinator and as classroom teacher for 1/2Y. A letter was sent home to all families via Compass earlier this week.
Catalyst Happenings
On Monday, Jordan O’Sullivan from our Perth team of coaches visited all our classes to share demonstrations of high impact teaching practice (HITP) with staff. After the demonstrations, the leadership team assisted with classroom learning so that teachers could ask questions and debrief with Jordan to gain further skills and knowledge for their own practice.
Thank you to Mr. O, for his very practical ideas and support for our team to continue to achieve Catholic Education bold goals.
Every child is a competent reader and High Impact Teaching Practice is evident in every classroom.
Opening Mass
Everyone is welcome to attend our Opening School Mass on Thursday 9 February at 9:30am. At this Mass we will bless our Year 6 leaders for 2023. If your child is in Year 6 and you would like to be part of the badge ceremony please feel welcome to come along and assist your child by pinning on the badge.
Parent Information Night
We are looking forward to welcoming parents on Thursday night at 5:30pm for our Parent Information Night. Please gather in the hall, tea and coffee will be available. Unfortunately, as all staff are involved, we are unable to provide supervision for your children. After some shared information and a short presentation from teachers you will be able to visit classrooms and collect term overviews.
Goal setting meetings with Parents and teachers
In week 8 of this term we welcome parents to our goal setting interviews for Semester 1. Information will be sent home around bookings for Monday 20 March, Tuesday 21 March and Wednesday 22 March.
School fees will be sent out via email shortly, please feel free to contact Lynda at the front office if you have any concerns. We don’t ask parents to supply any books, resources or learning materials so it is very important that families assist us by paying fees.
Thank you for your support to ensure the children are at school on time ready for learning and with everything they need, we are looking forward to a wonderful 2023.
Many Blessings,
Principal
LETTER OF WELCOME FROM ST MICHAEL’S PARISH
Dear Parents/Guardians,
St Michael’s School, Kaleen, is one of many thousands of Catholic Schools across the world.
Catholic Schools welcome any parent who wishes their child to receive a Catholic Education. A Catholic Education offers all academic preparation with a Catholic ethos. Our Catholic ethos is founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and in remembrance of his sacrifice on the Cross for all people that they can experience the unconditional love of God.
At St Michael’s Primary your child will be schooled well in all areas of life, with the dedication of the Christian staff of the school. The Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, of which the school is an integral part can offer you and your family the opportunity to worship God and learn more about the Catholic faith.
Don’t hesitate to contact me if there is any way in which the Parish can be of assistance. My mobile phone number is 0419 010 870 and my email address is mick.macandrew@cg.org.au
God bless,
Fr Mick Mac Andrew
