Dear Parents and Carers,
Last night I joined the Year 3/4 teachers and Ms Younger in the church for part of the Reconciliation ceremony. It was a peaceful, calm and beautiful time for the students to share with families and Father Loi. Thank you so much to Father Loi and all involved for making this such a meaningful experience where our students truly come to know the forgiveness of a God who never stops loving us.
Sibling Fee Reduction Note
A note will come home today via COMPASS for families who have an older sibling at a systemic Catholic High School. The five CEO systemic secondary schools are St Francis Xavier, Merici, St Clare’s, John Paul College, and St Mary MacKillop College. Families in this situation are entitled to fee reductions but need to complete the note and return it to us.
Families not returning in 2023
Please let us know in writing (an email is sufficient) if your family will not be returning to St Michael’s in 2023. We are always sad to see families leave us, but we know that this is the time of the year when postings, career change, house moves etc often occur. This prompt notice allows us to have the correct information for 2023 planning.
Triple P – Positive Parenting Program
We have been advised that delivery of the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program to parents and carers of children in Australia is being offered online and free of charge. The training will help parents to support their child’s development, grow closer and solve problems – positively. Please see the flier attached for information for families. Families are free to contact Sarah Rose for any questions.

40th Anniversary Preparations
Things are ramping up for our Birthday party. A big vote of thanks for everyone who has been helping out- especially Mrs Papasidero! The students have been completing a piece of artwork for our Art Competition- the entries will be displayed to share. We will find out the winners for each section on Friday 18th November. (Judged by Rosie Develin-Artist).
Also, on Friday 18 November to celebrate our Birthday we will have a “Come dressed in 80s gear day!” Weather permitting after our usual morning awards- we will have a walk across the stage to share the 80’s love! So, break out the big hair, fluoro colours and double denim!
Thank you to all our families helping out for our 40th Birthday or holding a stall- we are really looking forward to a wonderful community event!
As this is a small community event, EFTPOS will NOT be available. Instead please bring along cash/coins only.
A BIG thank you to the El Cheikh Family for their support in sprucing up the school signs. We are very grateful for the generosity and wonderful painting donated to the school- much appreciated!
Thank you for your continued support.
Many Blessings,

Religious Education News - Meaghan Younger
Religious Education
RE in 5/6
Students in 5/6 continue to explore who Mary is and why she holds a special place in the Catholic Church. There was a deep discussion around images of Mary and why each of the pictures below hold elements of truth and elements of incorrect information about Jesus’ mother. I invite you to have a conversation in your family about your own image of Mary and why you see her this way.
Parish Sacramental Program – First Reconciliation
Last night we had the Sacrament of Reconciliation celebrated for the first time by some of our children in Year 3. It was a beautiful evening and the children are congratulated for their prayerful attitude. Thank you to the families who have helped prepare their children to experience God’s eternal love. Congratulations to:

Grandparents Day
What a beautiful day it was last Friday to celebrate Grandparent’s Day. Even the weather cooperated! Special thanks to Miss Frogley and Miss Lewis and all of 3/4 for their thoughtful preparation and leadership of the liturgy celebrating Grandparents. It was made particularly special to have such a huge turnout – the first time our church has been full for a school liturgy since COVID first disrupted our lives. Let us hope it is the start of a return to normal community celebrations.
Remembrance Day WSPT
Staff and students in 3/4 will once again lead us in prayer this Friday, 11/11, for our Remembrance Day Liturgy. This WSPT will be in the St Michael’s Church at 10:30. We will pause during the WSPT for a minute’s silence to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in war. All families are most welcome to join us for the WSPT. A special invitation is extended to all Defence personnel.
Congratulations!
It was very exciting to see 5 new acolytes commissioned at Mass last weekend, including our own superstar Mum, Mrs Tanya Butler (mother to Isabella and past student Phillip). Thank you Tanya for your willingness to support our parish community with your service.
