    Principal’s Conference

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Principal’s Conference, which focused on long-term strategic development within our Catholic education community.
The conference provided valuable time for reflection and collaboration on our shared mission — to form people who flourish through faith, learning, and connection. We explored the importance of a Catholic curriculum grounded in our values and the call for educators to fan the flames of wonder in our students.
It was an inspiring reminder of the profound impact education has in shaping hearts and minds, and how our collective work at St Michael’s continues to nurture curiosity, compassion, and growth in every learner.

    Children’s Week

Last week we also celebrated Children’s Week, a special time to recognise the joy and wonder that children bring to our community. Classes took part in a range of fun activities, and our Teddy Bears’ Picnic was a highlight — enjoyed by students and staff alike! It was wonderful to see everyone coming together to celebrate the rights of our children and connection.

Congratulations to all of our students and teachers who received special awards for Children’s week, in particular,

    • Amalie Schwarz for the Exceptional Young Person Award
    • Jess Hallahan for the Exceptional STEM Contribution Award, for her work with Robocup
    • Emily O’Rourke for the Contribution to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children Award, as our Aboriginal Contact Officer.
    • Shianne Sahariv for the Community for Children Award, for her work with The Resilience Project.
    • Shannon Thewlis for the Significant Support Award, for her work as our Classroom Support Teacher.

Your commitment to learning, kindness, and community spirit continues to make St Michael’s a place we can all be proud of.

    World Teachers’ Day

Tomorrow, we will join schools across Australia in celebrating World Teachers’ Day.
This special day is an opportunity to recognise and thank our incredible Teachers for their skilled work in educating, inspiring, and supporting our young people.

A heartfelt thank you to our Community Council who are providing a beautiful morning tea in recognition of our amazing staff. Your thoughtfulness and support mean so much to us.

    World of Maths Incursion

Today, our students enjoyed a wonderful hands-on learning experience during the World of Maths Incursion. The sessions transformed mathematics into an engaging and interactive adventure, allowing students to explore problem-solving, logical thinking, and teamwork in a fun and practical way.
Children worked collaboratively to solve puzzles and real-life mathematical challenges, applying their knowledge in creative and meaningful contexts. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm, curiosity, and confidence grow as they discovered just how much fun maths can be! Thank you to all our parent volunteers that helped guide the activities.

    Kind regards,
