OLPH Eucharist Retreat Day

Last Thursday, the Year 4 students and all First Eucharist candidates took part in a Eucharist Retreat Day at St Michael’s.

Throughout the day, students participated in a range of activities designed to deepen their understanding of the Eucharist. These included listening to the Godly Play Scripture of the Last Supper, creating Eucharist-inspired artwork, and engaging in prayer using images of the Last Supper. Candidates also had the opportunity to practise receiving the Sacrament.

Fr Mick spoke with the students about the significance of the Eucharist, explaining that every time we gather with loved ones to share a meal, listen to one another, give thanks, and remember Jesus, we are truly living the Eucharist.

We extend our thanks to our Year 4 teachers, Ms Annabel McInnes and Ms Shianne Sahriv, as well as Fr Mick, Youth Coordinator Katie Brassnet, and Sacramental Coordinator Leanne Smith for their dedication and efforts in making the day memorable.

OLPH Feast Day

Our parish is named after Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH), who is known for miracles and answered prayers. On Friday, 27 June, we will celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Students in Years 5 and 6 will travel to St Monica’s to attend Mass, take part in special activities, and share a morning tea. Kindergarten to Year 4 students will remain at St Michael’s, where they will engage in activities designed to deepen their understanding of our patron saint.

All families are warmly invited to join us for Mass at 9:30am at St Monica’s Church, Evatt, and to stay for morning tea afterwards.
