Principal's Page - Judy Egan

Dear Parents and Carers,

A warm welcome back to Term 4!

Exciting News! After a long wait we finally have permission to relax many of the COVID-19 restrictions in schools.  To kick off we will be holding a celebration of our wonderful Grandparents on Friday 4th November. This will involve a Liturgy in St Michael’s Church, a visit to classrooms and a shared lunch. If families are not in a position for Grandparents to attend, please know that special family friends are also very welcome. Further times/details will follow.

St Michael’s Feast Day and Sacrament of Reconciliation

This Friday, parents are welcome to join us in the Church for whole school prayer to celebrate St Michael’s Feast Day which occurred during the holidays on 29th  September. After prayer we will hand out Harmony Awards and recognise birthdays.

This term our Year 3 students will be preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This is a Sacrament where we are reminded of the power of forgiveness to give peace and hope in our lives. We prayerfully support these students and families during the next few weeks.

Catalyst Happenings

As part of our continued commitment to Staff professional learning and development Associate Professor Lorraine Hammond AM, PhD, CF will be visiting St Michael’s this Thursday 13 October. Lorraine has been part of the coaching and feedback for our staff over the past 2 years and provides research-based support to assist us in ensuring we maintain high impact teaching practice.

Thank you to Meaghan Younger, Shianne Sahariv and Laura Frogley for attending 3 days of Intensive training with the Catalyst Teams from CECG and WA during the second week of the holiday period. Congratulations to Laura Frogley who joins Jessica Hallahan in completing her journey to attain Highly Accomplished Teacher status. We have a teaching staff who go above and beyond to ensure they deliver best practice in classrooms and they continue to be an inspiring bunch.

40th Anniversary

This term we will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary in Week 6, Saturday 19 November between 11am-2pm.

Uniform Free Day this Friday - 14 October

As part of all the fun- Year 5/6 students will be running some stalls on the 40th Anniversary day to support their learning in financial literacy.

This Friday 14th October, we are collecting items to help run these stalls. Students are welcome to wear non-uniform in exchange for one of the items below.

Kinder-Year 2 students - Please bring any variety of a family block of chocolate minimum 180gm.

Year 3-6 students - Please bring a packet of lollies such as snakes, lollipops, party mix, packets of chocolate frogs etc.

Thank you for helping us to make this a successful event.

Cancellation of Boorowa Carnival

Sadly, event organisers have notified us of the cancellation of the carnival this year due to the rain. Thank you to all our families who had committed to attending, here’s hoping that next year this wonderful event returns for all our schools.

Pupil-Free Day - Friday 16 December

CECG have advised that Friday 16 December will be a Pupil-Free Day. This officially makes Thursday 15 December the last day of school for St Michael’s students for 2022.

Thank you for your continued support of our school and community.

Many Blessings,
